Fence Building Weekend

Got the first draft of our new house plans and still working on moving things out of the old place.  After things get finalized, the old homestead will no longer be our home.  But, in order for us to build a new home, we must provide a place for our horses.  Although I know our horses would prefer to roam all 80 acres, we must make a small area as a catch pen and a safe place for them to stay during construction of the new house.  Therefore, corner posts and braces must be put in and welded before the wire can be stretched.  So my boys, (country boy and drummer boy), spent the weekend getting that done.  I’m proud to say our drummer boy, with the assistance of his dad, (aka my country boy), cut the holes and welded in all the posts by himself and did a great job.

As my country boy was overseeing our drummer boy with the cutting torch and welder, I decided to go take a walk around the 80 and snap a few pictures.

Some photos of the pond that will be within the horse section.

A view from the back side of the big pond.
Up on that hill is where the back porch area of the house will be.

A reverse view from the previous photo of the big pond.
Note the bench I brought from the old place.  It's a great place to sit.

Some more photos from my walk around the big pond dam as the sun set.
Got a shot of the guys, putting in some posts.

This shot is one of my favorites.  It wasn't on purpose.  It snapped while I was walking along the pond dam.  After I seen it I thought, maybe it wasn't an accident.  A photo of God's handy work!

I don't claim to be a professional photographer at all.  But I'm pretty proud of capturing this moment.

While getting in several steps and a couple miles, I took some pics of my boys too, of course.   I even managed to get the drummer boy to stop for a few moments for another selfie.  Since this seems to be a trend within my blog, we must keep the tradition alive.

Our drummer boy, getting the posts moved to the right spot.

Humoring mom, stopping for a John Deere selfie!!

Carefully driving the posts.

Our drummer boy getting the job done.  Cutting the posts.
(He is not for hire....Yet)

"Mom, I don't have time for a picture, I'm busy".

Drummer boy, welding it up.
