So thankful to have the awesome parents that we do!
My mom and dad have been great, helping us in every way. And country boy’s parents have been so kind
to come help us when they can. Even
agreeing to spend Easter weekend with us and helping us move out of our old
home. It’s not going to be an easy job! But if all continues as planned with the
buyers, we’ve agreed to be moved out of the house by March 30th. We will be grilling hamburgers and hotdogs at
the new place. Affectionately named, The 80.
And we’ve told everyone to bring their fishing poles. It’s the least we can do for all our family
being kind enough to spend Easter helping us move. This place is where my family has traditionally
shared many Easter weekends, grilling, fishing, and riding horses. So we are looking forward to many more family
Easters together on the 80.
It has been such a blessing to have my dad’s expertise and his equipment. Not to mention over the past several
years my son has gotten the opportunity to learn from the best, (my dad), while getting to spend valuable time with his grandpa. I got the opportunity to ride with my son in the
bulldozer while he helped grandpa on the dirt work. He's also an old pro when asked to jump in the backhoe as
needed. Still lots to do, but the rain
was a blessing on what had already been done.
Now to continue on getting it just right.
My awesome dad on the tractor with the box blade.
The cows were less than impressed.
Allow me to introduce our son, our blessing. He enjoys team roping, but has been known all
of his life for his talent with playing the drums. So the nickname, “Drummer Boy” seemed fitting
for this blog. (I can vision him rolling
his eyes now, reading this.) But, those
of you who know him will probably agree that the blog name is perfect.
As his bulldozer passenger, I took the opportunity to grab some photos, along with a selfie. After all, I have a backhoe selfie already. It only seemed right to have one in the bulldozer. Especially with my son, the drummer boy, in the drivers seat.
We got a chuckle at the little windshield wipers that are in the front, side windows.
I guess we will be ready if we get caught in the rain...maybe a little.
During one of our trips to the 80 moving more outdoor things, it was such a beautiful day, we had to stop to enjoy the pond and let the dogs run. Drummer boy hooked in over 10 bass. I’m not to divulge anything more. He and his cousins want to
keep this fishing hole top secret.
By the way, this view is down from where the backyard of the house will be.
I absolutely can not wait to get out here and enjoy this beautiful land!!
Here is another view. Sunset on the 80. I can't take enough pictures.
Next up, the delivery of a shipping container for storage will be sometime next week. And my country boy and drummer boy will begin welding corner posts for the horse fence this weekend.
I’m anxiously waiting to hear back from the designer on the house
plans. In the meantime, we continue to
keep packing the old house up and moving forward on developing the 80. I already feel like this is the shortest
month ever. And it's already been bittersweet. The last days in our old home. I guess I better get back to my
list of “to do’s”!
