We see the light!

We are finally seeing the light at the end of this construction tunnel!  Amazing to look back at how far we've come.  All the ups and downs, the long, tiring nights are beginning to pay off and so worth it.  Cabinets were ordered in March and delivered mid April.  Ready to stain.  Sheetrock was painted with primer shortly after it was hung and textured and ready for the main paint after the floors were done.  It is all coming together and we just can't believe we are almost done!

The end of March, we spent a weekend painting each and every ceiling, wall, and corner with sheetrock primer.  Country boy used a paint sprayer on the large areas while I rolled the small rooms.  Things got a little messy.  Good thing we put plastic all over the doors and windows.  We looked like we were in a scene from the movie, "Outbreak".

Meanwhile - Bricks were delivered!

Primer was done and all dried so the plastic was cut up to get the floors cleaned and ready for the concrete stain.

We never mopped so much in our entire lives!  So thankful for our concrete guy, he helped by using a buffer to get it all just right.

Hello Spring!  Horses enjoying the weather and green grass coming up.

Country Boy took a moment after a long day at work to enjoy a little fishing as I walked the pond dam.  I couldn't help but capture this photo op from the other side of the pond.
Look closely and you will see him fishing away.

Bring on the concrete stain!
Afterward it was stained with the color we chose, we mopped and mopped again, cleaning up the residue from the stain once it was dry.

This is basically what all the floors look like after it was sealed.

Below is a picture of our horse, Dandy.  We raised her and trained her, had her since 1997, a year after we got married.
As I took this pic I was reminded how she's moved with us from our first little home on 10 acres, to our now dream home.  She has been a part of our family all these years and made it to this beautiful land we've been blessed with.

Brick was all done mid April.  We got all the interior painting done.  Final preparations are being made to have cabinets installed, etc.  Still things to be done on the porches, cement poured, heat and air.  So close yet so far but we are so thrilled and blessed.  We suffered damage from a tornado on May 6th and lost a building, property, lots of tress and belongings.  Unfortunately, our neighbors lost their barn and suffered severe damage.  You can see in the picture below, some of the debris from the building that was picked up and thrown down into the pond.  This F1 tornado went directly in between our barn and house.
There's no doubt that God was watching over us and answered our prayers!

I have many more pictures and things to add.  Lots going on that we are excited about. However, due to privacy issues, we will no longer be sharing our lives on the internet and social media.
Thank you for following us.
To our family and close friends, feel free to contact me personally for updates and pictures.
God Bless!
