Pull your hats down tight and cinch up the saddles! I was reluctant to post for fear of jinxing things, but the signing is done and things are beginning to get started with
construction and we couldn’t be more thankful!
After a long, rough ride, we are on our way!
Since then, we've had a nice summer with family and friends. Sure enjoyed having our Drummer Boy home from college. Now we are ready to start this final chapter in building our dream home.
I would constantly be reminded how it's not in our timing, but Gods. I would see things on social media or other places to help me along. Such as: "Everything God is preparing for you is worth the wait." And, "What comes easy won't last. What lasts won't come easy." And finally:
So here we are, after many prayers and lots of patience, we are ready to get started.
Here are a few pics of the place. Just a reminder of the many reasons why we love it. Even without a house on it.
Here is the view from what will be the back porch/back yard. Even the Purple Martins have made this place a home.
Above picture is a view from the pond up to where the house will be.
Early Spring we plotted where we wanted the house to set. And since I'm such a visual person, we spray painted all of the walls and rooms while our Dally girl looked on. Made a big difference and helped us make some changes.
Most recently, (August 7th and 8th), we finished scraping the grass off of the pad to get ready for the foundation work.
View from the barn with all the grass gone.
Ready for the foundation!
Not sure how much I will be blogging because we are going to be busy! But, I will try to update when possible. Although I know we will have some bumps along the way, I have faith it will be ok and we plan to enjoy this, and not strangle each other, too much. Just kidding. Please keep us in your prayers for a smooth and relatively painless construction as possible.
